Technical Details

Color harmonies are generated using HSL (Hue, Saturation, Lightness) color space transformations. Complementary colors are 180° apart on the color wheel. Analogous colors are within 30° of the base. Triadic colors are 120° apart. Shades decrease lightness while tints increase it. All calculations happen in your browser.

FAQ

What's the difference between shades and tints?

Shades are created by adding black (decreasing lightness) to the base color, while tints are created by adding white (increasing lightness).

Can I use these palettes for commercial projects?
