Typing Speed Test
Take a free typing speed test: 15, 30 or 60 seconds, live words-per-minute and accuracy, your best result saved. No sign-up, runs in your browser.
Why measure typing speed
Typing is the main way most of us work with a computer, and speed directly buys back time: doubling from 30 to 60 words per minute saves whole minutes every hour. A short test shows where you stand and gives you a number to improve — live counters for words per minute, characters per minute and accuracy included.
What it does
- Three durations: 15, 30 and 60 seconds.
- Live counters: words per minute, characters per minute and accuracy as you type.
- Your best result for each duration is remembered right in your browser.
How to use
- Pick a duration and start typing the shown text.
- The timer starts with your first key; correct characters count, mistakes are underlined.
- When time runs out, read your words per minute and accuracy, then try to beat your best.
How it works
Speed is counted as standard words of five characters per minute (WPM) from correctly typed characters only; accuracy is the share of correct keystrokes. The test and your best results live entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good typing speed?
Around 40 words per minute is a typical office level; 60+ is confident, and professional typists reach 80–120. Anything you improve is pure time saved.
Does case and punctuation count?
Yes — the test compares your input with the sample character by character, so capitals, punctuation and spaces all matter, exactly like in real typing.
