Why convert cooking measurements
Recipes use different measures: some in cups and spoons, some in grams and millilitres. Eyeballing the conversion ruins baking — flour, sugar and honey have very different densities. The converter uses the density of the specific ingredient: two cups of flour and two cups of honey weigh very differently.

How it works
Each ingredient has an averaged density (grams per millilitre): the volume is multiplied by it to get the weight. A cup is 240 ml, a tablespoon 15 ml, a teaspoon 5 ml. Everything runs locally in your browser.
Frequently asked questions
Why does a cup of flour weigh different amounts?
Sifted flour is fluffier and lighter than packed flour — up to 20% difference. The table uses a typical spooned value of about 120 g per 240 ml cup.
How accurate are the densities?
These are averages from standard measurement tables: good enough for recipes that need spoon-level accuracy rather than gram-level.
