How it works
The math is simple and transparent: litres = distance × consumption ÷ 100, cost = litres × price, doubled for a round trip and divided by the number of people. Everything is computed locally in your browser.

Which consumption figure should I use?
Your car’s real-world average — the dashboard trip computer value over the last few thousand kilometres is more honest than the brochure number, especially for city driving.
Can I use miles and gallons?
The calculator works in kilometres and litres. Convert your figures first: 1 mile ≈ 1.609 km, and mpg (US) ≈ 235.2 ÷ L/100km.
